Refinishing
The
term "refinishing" means different things to different people. A true
professional refinishing job requires that the piano is moved to our
shop where it is stripped completely of all previous finishes to bare
wood, damaged wood and veneer is repaired or replaced, the surface is
cleaned, stained, the grain is filled with a filler, sanded, multiple
coats of sanding sealer and many coats of lacquer. The finish is then
hand rubbed.
There
are other options that can potentially be done without moving the
piano. Old cracked finishes can be cleaned and coated to improve their
appearance without stripping.
